Books: Our List this Christmas

I’m getting ready for our Christmas studies in December and I thought I’d share some of our favorite books for the Christmas season. We also have a basket of books that the kids read from every day for at least 15 minutes during “Book Basket” time, but the ones listed below are scheduled or family reads.

Share some of your own favorites, I’d love to add to our collection!

Jotham’s Journey

Last year we read:

Bartholomew’s Passage

Little House Christmas Treasury

Christmas in My Heart

Christmas Stories from Grandma’s Attic

Silent Night: The Song and it's Story

Silent Night: The Song and it’s Story

A Christmas Carol

Mortimer’s Christmas Manger

Jr. Highers

Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus

C is for Christmas

The Battle for Christmas

A Christmas Carol

  1. Wonderful list! 🙂
We also enjoyed Tabitha’s Travels, the 3rd book in the Jotham’s Journey series.
For elementary: The Tale of Three Trees, Angela Hunt
    The Crippled Lamb, Max Lucado
The Legend of the Candy Cane, Lori Walburg

Family read aloud: The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, Barbara Robinson
Jr. High: Little Women by Louisa May Alcott (Christmas scenes)

This year, we’ll be reading from:
    A Christmas Carol, Dickens (unabridged)
The Birds’ Christmas Carol, Kate Douglas Wiggin
Gift of the Magi, O. Henry
    Various Christmas poems

You have motivated me to go up into the attic and pull down our box of Christmas books!

Let's Talk!
